Why Bible Bookstores Still Matter

Religion is an integral part of the every day lives of millions of Americans. And given that 82% of American people identify with some form of Christianity or another, they truly have a lot more in common in the course of their lives than they might realize. They pray–55% of Americans say, according to a survey conducted in 2014 by the Pew Research Center–they give thanks–a whopping 82% of Christians in the United States express that they feel a deep sense of gratitude on a daily basis–they keep their God in their thoughts, they read the bible, quote scripture, try to follow their Holy Bible and the gospel of their Lord to the best of their abilities.

Indeed, almost as many who identify with the Christian faith say that religion is a very important part of their lives–73% of people say as much, in fact.

But even with this strong sense of importance, and the fact that many already include their religion so much in their daily lives, 60% of those interviewed in a survey conducted by the American Bible society expressed the desire to partake in reading and studying the bible more than they currently do.

Given the number of people who have the urge to read the Holy Bible more than they already do, an easy solution to get more Bibles to people so they can read them to bring them closer to their God, is through Bible bookstores.

A Bible bookstore is exactly what it sounds like and then some. They typically sell the Holy Bible, yes, but they also sell other discount Christian books, inspiring Christian books, those delving further into the Faith and helping people to come even closer to their religion, and their God in ways they couldn’t achieve before. They also sell educational materials for children, both to help them explore their faith as well, and to help them further their persona education.

Indeed, a good Christian bookstore tends to sell all of these things and more, helping anyone, Christian and curious non-Christian alike, come closer and become more intimate with the word of God. And if that isn’t the point of any Bible bookstore, then what is?
