University application letter

Of the 100 best universities in the world, U.S. News has ranked the top 10 best colleges for 2013. You can find Best Universities lists all over the internet, all based on different criteria, so know what specifically you are looking for before searching for the Best University list that fits your requirements.

Any list of the best universities should have a few different bits of information for you. Before it even begins, you should know what they judged the schools on. They should have information like average class sizes, graduation rates, and obviously tuition. According to U.S. News, they look at a broad scope of information combined to deem what is the best education experience for your buck.

To no surprise, you can find most ivy league schools present on the best college list. Harvard and Princeton actually tied for first place. Third was taken by Yale, while fourth place was a tie as well. Yale and Columbia took that spot. And even sixth was a tie with Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford. You probably could have named every single one of those, right?

It is no surprise that they are the top of the list, and some of the highest tuition around. Because they are good at what they do. When you produce consistently exceptional results, you can charge more to get those results. But that being said, just because it is ivy league, just because you pay thousands of dollars, does not mean it is the best for you.

Why not research the top 10 best colleges in communities? Community colleges have gotten a bad rap, but they really are an incredibly inexpensive way to get at least your first two years of schooling done, taking care of all of your general education credits before paying four times as much to take them at a private university. So you need to make the best decision for your situation. Now more than ever, price should be a concern for you. You should really be looking for the best education within your means, not the best education, and you will take care of the bills later.
